Detailed Map Yasawas
The Yasawa Islands are a group of about 20 volcanic islands lying to the northwest of Viti Levu. The chain consists of six main islands and numerous smaller islets starting 40km north-west of Lautoka and stretching 80km to the north. The Yasawa Islands were made famous in the film "The Blue Lagoon" and their crystal clear waters, isolated beaches and stunning mountainous scenery do not disappoint. Dry sunny conditions make the Yasawas an ideal beach holiday destination, with a choice of accommodation options from backpacker lodgings to 5 star private islands. The Yasawas are accessed daily from Port Denarau and Lautoka by fast catamaran and resort water taxis, or seaplane from Nadi.

The beautiful Yasawa chain of islands stretches north-eastwards from the top of the Mamanucas 90km / 54 miles out into Bligh Water. The Yasawas are famous for having been the place where Captain Bligh narrowly avoided capture by Fijian war canoes during his longboat escape from the Bounty. There are three ways to enjoy the islands. On a budget, in one of many the flashpacker resorts. In luxury, staying a romantic boutique resort, or cruising onboard the Captain Cook Cruises, Blue Lagoon Cruises or your own private charter.

You will find some of Fiji's best snorkelling at Long Beach in the south west corner of Nacula. All travellers travel to Nacula by boat. The Yasawa Flyer takes about 4 hours from Nadi. Some resorts offer transfers on their own smaller 20 passenger fishing boats taking about 4 hours from Lautoka.
