The Mamanuca (pronounced Ma-ma noo tha) island group is a paradise of eye-popping reefs and sand-fridged isles shared by traditional Fijian villages and modern island resorts. Set among deep blue waters with fringing coral reefs of turquoise and pastel green, the arc shaped Mamanuca chain is situated well inside the outer reef whose protective barrier creates ideal conditions for boating, scuba diving, snorkelling and other water-based activities. Top it off; the Mamanucas also lie in a weather belt boasting the South Pacific’s highest “sunshine factor”. There are about 20 islands in the group, basking in a large lagoon formed by the Malolo Barrier Reef and Viti Levu. The Mamanucas are movie stars, Fiji’s glittering jet set, forever photographed and feted, valued more for their natural beauty. These are considered among the most beautiful islands in the country with miles of white sand beaches and coral blue waters, providing a tropical experience in comfortable surroundings.
Malolo Lailai Island
Malololailai Island is the closest island in the Mamanuca Group to Nadi and is home to three quite different resorts.The family oriented Plantation Island Resort together with the small boutique Lomani Island Resort share one of Fiji's most picturesque beaches. While Musket Cove Island Resort at the other end of the island has its own marina and is popular with visiting yatchies.Malololailai also has its own nine hole golf course, airstrip, art gallery and restaurants. Malololailai's facilities together with its proximity to Nadi make it a popular destination for day trippers and holiday makers alike.
Malolo Island
Located amongst the Mamanuca archipelago, Malolo Levu Island is 25 kilometres (16 miles) west of Fiji's Nadi International Airport. Malolo Levu Island is the largest island in the Mamanucas with over 2000 acres. The nine acre Malolo Island Resort is on its western shores opposite Castaway Island. You can visit Malolo Island on a day trip with South Sea Cruises or book into the Malolo Island Resort to spend some quality time on the island. One top of the ideal swimming, snorkelling and hospitality, the island offers fantastic scenic walks with magnificent views out over the neighboring Mamanuca Islands.
Beachcomber Island
This tiny island is situated on a marine sanctuary in the heart of the Mamanuca group of islands, just 19 kilometres from Fiji’s international airport. The Beachcomber Island Resort which occupies the whole island is known as Fiji’s “party island” and is an ideal destination for the young at heart.
Bounty Island
Bounty Island is named after the Bounty Island Resort that occupies the Island. The island’s traditional Fijian name is Kadavulailai Island. Bounty Island is a family friendly Resort which caters to couples as well as family groups, and being only a short 15 min boat trip from Nadi makes it and ideal location for short getaways.
Castaway Island
Castaway Island (Qalito Island) is home to the Castaway Island Resort. The island is everything that you would expect from a tropical paradise. Acres of lush tropical vegetation, surrounded by white sand beaches and encircled by vibrant coral reefs. Castaway is 30km due west of Nadi International Airport. Getting there is easy by boat, seaplane or helicopter.
Treasure Island
Treasure Island is a small island encircled by a white sand beach set within a stunning marine sanctuary. The 6 hectare island is home to one of the best known resorts in Fiji, Treasure Island Resort. Treasure Island is an ideal island resort destination families and couples alike and is packed with things to do and enjoy including swimming, snorkelling, mini-golf and helping with their breeding program for endangered Hawksbill turtles. Treasure Island Resort is 50% owned by the traditional land owners, the Nakelo Clan which helps ensure guests receive a truly authentic Fijian experience. Treasure Island is 17km west of Nadi International Airport
Mana Island
Mana Island is the largest resort in the Mamanuca's covering 300 acres. Here you can walk through our tropical island rainforests or visit your own deserted beach. Mana Island has three separate beaches, On the lagoon side enjoy snorkeling and a range of great watersport activities. Laze on the quieter North Beach with its beautiful views out over uninhabited islands or soak up the sun on Sunset Beach on the western side of the island. Mana island is only ten minutes by air from Nadi International Airport or 45-minutes by fast- catarmaran.
Matamanoa Island
Matamanoa Island is the location of the small, intimate and secluded Matamanoa Island Resort, Fiji. The island is set in the Mamanuca Islands 30 kilometres west of Nadi International Airport. The volcanic cone at the centre of the island is surrounded by dense bush and palm trees and is a spectacular contrast to Matamanoa's white sandy beaches and pristine coral reefs. A distinctive feature of Matamanoa Island is the spectacular horseshoe-shaped white sand beach that encircles the resort.
Tokoriki Island
Tokoriki is located thirty five kilometres off the west coast of Nadi. It is the northernmost island in the Mamanuca group and borders the Yasawa Islands. There are two resorts on Tokoriki Island. Tokoriki Island Resort caters exclusively for couples and is an ideal honeymoon destination while its neighbour Amunuca Island Resort is family friendly and is popular with both couples and families.
South Sea Island
This tiny uninhabited island is just a 30 minute cruise away from Denarau. South Sea Island is a popular day trip island for visitors wanting a taste of Mamanuca Island life. Perfect for a day of swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, sailing or lazing of the beach, South Sea Island has it all.
